On November 3, 2025, ACPN held a community workshop titled “Blood Sugar Management & Nutritional Balance” at Splendid China Mall. The event featured Guest Speaker Rose, from the Canadian College of Public Health, who delivered an informative lecture on understanding blood sugar regulation, the role of insulin, and how nutritional balance supports metabolic health and disease prevention.
Following the lecture, participants joined a hands-on cooking session as part of the “Nourishing Connections to Combat Loneliness by Cooking” initiative. In addition to preparing a delicious corn chowder, attendees learned how to make a healthy ham and cheese wrap using fresh greens and simple ingredients. The activity encouraged social engagement, learning, and healthy eating habits within the community.
This meaningful event was funded in part by the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program, aiming to promote social inclusion, nutritional education, and wellness among seniors through shared culinary experiences.
