To promote health literacy among seniors and highlight the role of scientific dietary practices in aging well, the Golden Maple Chinese Seniors Association (GMCSA) hosted a themed lecture titled “Science-Based Diet Strategies for Healthy Aging” on April 30, 2025, from 7:30 to 8:30 PM. The event was co-organized by the Association of Certified Professional Nutritionists (ACPN) and featured Julia Wong, ACPN Registered Nutritionist, lecturer at the Canadian College of Public Health, and lead nutritionist at Junjun Nutrition Consulting. Julia provided a comprehensive overview of the importance of evidence-based dietary approaches and shared practical strategies for improving health outcomes in later life. Event moderator Mr. Ruizhu Xu also engaged participants in discussing the impact of eating habits on overall health, offering actionable suggestions for lifestyle improvement.
This online lecture aimed to help middle-aged and senior participants—particularly within the Chinese-Canadian community—adopt healthier eating habits and take proactive steps toward improving their well-being and quality of life. GMCSA emphasized that such events foster awareness of the importance of scientific nutrition and encourage the community to integrate healthy eating concepts into their daily routines, laying the foundation for long-term vitality and happiness.
